Born in Shanghai in 1937, Ling Siew May (later Ong Siew May) was an architect and former First Lady. She married Mr. Ong Teng Cheong in the early 1960s and together they had two sons. She died on 30 July 1999. Mrs. Ong Siew May used the suitcase when she was studying at the University of Adelaide.
