This pendant features the face of a stylised human or deity figure.The decorative protrusions of this pendant were created in sheet gold by hammering and beating, a method known as repoussé. Gold and gold ornaments were obtained through trading items such as sandalwood, horses and pearls. Jewellery was an indication of status and usually owned by aristocratic families.
