This astronomical quadrant, made of lacquered wood and paper, is basically a quarter of an astrolabe. The quadrant is typical of those made in Ottoman Turkey, where it was the preferred instruments for keeping time. This piece is marked for latitude 40 degrees, may be used for the cities of Bursa or Ankara.
