The birthday banner features ‘Fu Lu Shou San Xing’ or the three star deities. ‘Fu Xing’, Lu Xing’ and ‘Shou Xing’ symbolise happiness/fortune, affluence and longevity respectively. Due to their symbolic representations, the images of the three stars are a popular and common fixture in most Chinese households and are also displayed during festive occassions such as the Chinese New Year. The name of the recipient is reflected on the left of the banner, while the name of the well wishers are reflected on the right.
