Ornament with figure in meditation

This ornament features a figure in meditation. It is unclear what this ornament was originally intended for. It is unlikely to be an ear ornament, and could have been affixed to rod-like objects. The motif in meditation could possibly reflect influence from India. Although India-derived symbols were used in Javanese jewellery during this period of time, the nature of that interaction between indigenous and Indian culture remains a subject of debate. Besides jewellery for adornment, gold was also used to make religious items during this period.
