Figurine featuring Xi’er, the 'White-Haired Girl'

The stance of the figurine follows the ballet poses of Xi’er in the Chinese ballet, 'The White-Haired Girl'. Xi’er is a peasant girl abused by a tyrannical landlord. She flees into the mountains and her hair turns white from the harsh experience of living for years in the wilderness. The design on the teapot shows Xi’er reuniting with her fiancé, Wang Dachun. Wang who had joined the People’s Liberation Army is shown guiding Xi’er forward.
