This ‘kain lepas’ (‘skirtcloth’) was made in the ‘pagi soré’ (‘morning and evening’) style, which has two comparable but different designs on either end. The cloth could thus be reversed to display a different look. Pagi soré became popular during the Second World War due to the shortage of high quality cotton cloth.
