This richly carved and decorated stool was probably kept in the men's house to be used during ceremonial occasions. The circular patterns are similar to those on many of the ceremonial shields. Smaller stool-like forms were also used as neck rests so that the person would not disturb an elaborately created hair style as he sleeps.
