The first magazine of its type in Malaya, ‘Malayan Homes & Gardens’ was a home styling magazine catered to ‘house-conscious’ home owners in Malaya and Singapore. As more people could afford to own a house through instalment plans during that time, there was also a greater interest in designing original, comfortable and interesting homes. The magazine provided inexpensive tips and new ideas on home styling.
