Born in 1925, M. Amin got his start as an actor at Shaw Brothers’ Malay Film Productions before moving on to Cathay-Keris Productions, where he had a successful career as a director. He directed a total of 28 films while at Cathay-Keris, making his directorial debut in the film, ‘Lanchang Kuning’ (1962). He left Singapore in early 1970s to continue his career in Malaysia. He passed away in 2003.Latifah Omar was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 1939. She received her big break in the film, ‘Panggilan Pulau’ (1954), acting alongside film legend P. Ramlee. The film made her into a household name and started her immensely successful career as an actress first at Malay Film Productions and later at Cathay-Keris Productions. Her other films include ‘Bawang Putih Bawang Merah’ (1959), ‘Hang Jebat’ (1961) and ‘Laila Majnun’ (1962).
