This three-legged model brazier has vertical slits around the walls for ventilating a fire and three projections on the rim, which may have been used to support a cooking pot.The custom of making ‘mingqi’ or burial wares was an ancient practice. It was believed that these wares were necessary for the deceased in the next world. Large groups of model daily life possessions such as this were also a display of wealth and social status.
