This ceramic jar has an everted rim, long neck, a bulbous body and a splayed foot. The marbled effect was produced by mixing two earthenware clays of different colours usually red or buff before they were moulded. This type of wares were covered with transparent lead glazes of either yellow or green. Marbled wares were usually made for burial.
