Founded by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1823, Raffles Institution set out to fulfil the founder's vision of catering for formal education in Singapore. The school is the oldest in Singapore, with former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and the first President of Singapore, Yusof Ishak, among its notable alumni.
