Named after Governor Sir John Anderson, Anderson Bridge was officially opened on 12 March 1910. It was constructed in 1909 to help ease the increasing traffic onCavenagh Bridge. Anderson Bridge was able to allow vehicles to cross the Singapore River at its lowest point.
