Bowls or 'batil' are of hemispherical shape, slightly flattened at the base and often without a footrim. The body of the bowl can be lobed or octagonal in form. The bowls are made by raising a sheet of silver into the basic bowl shape so much so it has sometimes been compared to the shape of a half coconut shell. The decoration on the bowls consists of a border under the rim with a geometric or floral design amd a rosette of highly stylized flower at the base.
