This long, rectangular banner is dyed entirely in the rich maroon red typical of East Javanese batik. White-on-red mirror-image of qilin, vase of lotus (for fertility) and pot of flowers (fortune) are compacted along the horizontal axis of the banner, leaving the axis blank. The border of the banner is filled with the bird known as 'lokcan' in fine red renderings against the ivory gound. This type of Peranakan Chinese batik was made before the World War I. It is also a very rare piece due to the composition.
