This dish is decorated with a simple underglaze iron-brown design of abstract star motifs. The piece was made in Si Satchanalai, one of the twin royal cities during the Sukhothai period (mid 13th to mid 15th centuries). Kilns in this region were some of the largest ceramic producers in Southeast Asia at this time.
