There are two kinds of traditional head coverings young Karen women and adults use. They can be homespun red or white headcloth with a long fringe or a rectangular piece of white or pink cloth tied around the head.The Karen is the largest tribal group in Thailand comprising two main divisions (the Sgaw and Pwo) and smaller sub-groups. Originally thought to have come from Tibet, they migrated into Thailand from Burma during the 18th century.
