These four pieces of embroidered strips that look like neck-ties, were pinned to the cape worn by Peranakan brides. Two of these strips will be pinned in front and two at the back. These strips also have tassels at their V-shaped ends and feature embroidered phoenix and peony motifs, auspicious motifs that are recurrent on Peranakan wedding garments. Bridal wedding garments of a style like this were predominantly used by the Peranakans of Malacca and Singapore from the late 19th century to the early 20th century.
