Anniversary clock

An anniversary clock is a spring driven clock with a spinning pendulum. They are also known as 400-day clocks as they were designed to be wound only once every 400 days. It was meant to be given as a wedding or birthday gift so that it could be wound again on the next anniversary. Such ornamental clocks were made of brass and usually displayed on the mantel in glass or crystal cases The clocks are often engraved with the wedding date or date of birth the recipient.
