These tiles have been decorated with geometric designs based on the 12-pointed star. Geometric motifs are one of the important artistic expressions found in the Islamic world. Some scholars believe these geometric motifs are linked to the idea of contemplation of the infinite nature of God. Tiles with geometric designs are widely found on funerary monuments in Multan, where the brilliant blue stands out in the desert-like surroundings.
