This tile is decorated with a main arabesque-shaped panel with calligraphy within its foliate borders. It is painted in blue, turquoise and white enamels. The inscriptions written in reverse has the words 'Ya Allah' and 'Ya Muhammad' meaning, ‘Oh Allah' and 'Oh Muhammad.'Calligraphy has always been considered the noblest and most featured art in the world of Islam as it transmits the Divine Revelations of God. It can be found on a variety of media - on tiles like this and on the stone slabs of buildings and in manuscripts.
