Born in Singapore in 1941, Jolly Koh was brought up in Malacca, Malaysia. After years of studying and lecturing Art, he was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship in 1971 and graduated with a doctorate in art education from the University of Indiana, USA in 1976. While essentially subscribing to the Abstract Expressionist philosophy, he was more interested in investigating colour relationships. Drawn from nature, his works are lyrical colour compositions that delight the senses.
