This box is made with pandanus leaves and weaved by using the 'anyam gila' or mad weave technique. This pattern contains three dimensional rhombs, cubes and six-pointed stars which is achieved by working two strips ofpandanus leaves in three directions.This complicated basketry method was employed in various areas in the Malay peninsula as well as the Indonesian achipelago.
