The Laxminarayan Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, and her consort Narayana. It also houses shrines dedicated to other gods. The temple was built by Baldeo Das Birla from 1933 to 1939 in the North Indian Nagara architectural style whose primary feature is a tall central tower surrounded by smaller subsidiary towers. Also, the temple is decorated with carvings depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. Mahatma Gandhi inaugurated the temple after its completion in 1939 on the condition that non-Hindus and Indians from every caste would be allowed to enter the premises.
