The Pearl Mosque, or Moti Masjid, is a small mosque made of white marble built by the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb at the Red Fort complex in Delhi.The Red Fort is a fort complex constructed by Aurangzeb’s predecessor, Shah Jahan, in Old Delhi, the capital of the Mughals. After the end of the Mughal Empire, the British used the fort as a military camp until India’s independence in 1947. It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007, and now serves as a popular tourist site and symbol of India’s sovereignty.This picture was taken by a British policeman during his tour in India. He was posted to Singapore during the Malayan Emergency.
