Young Lisu girls and women wear a black turban on festive occasions. The turban made of black cloth is made to measure and wound around tightly in layers. To this, she attaches long strands of multicoloured yarns which passes to one side to the front of the turban and then over to the back and hangs on the shoulders. The turban may be further embellished with glass beads and pompoms in the front.
