This is a studio photograph of two Malay men. The man standing in front of the balustrade is wearing a Western-style jacket over a round-collared shirt, ‘sarong pelekat’ (plaid patterned wrap-around cloth) over his trousers, and a ‘songkok’ (velvet cap). The man standing behind the balustrade is wearing a long-sleeved shirt over a ‘sarong pelekat’ with a ‘blangkon’ (traditional Javanese headdress) on his head.
