‘Orang Asli’ refers to the indigenous people in Malay Peninsula who were previously known as ‘Sakai’. They are divided into three main tribal groups: the ‘Semang’ (or ‘Negrito’), ’Senoi’ and proto-Malay (aboriginal Malay).
