Jamek Mosque in Kuala Lumpur

Built at the junction of the Gombak and Klang rivers in 1909, Jamek Mosque was part of the transformation that Kuala Lumpur underwent when the city became the capital of the Federated Malay States in 1896. Jamek Mosque was one of the several buildings whose architectural style was based on Islamic lines, which included government buildings, the General Post Office and the Railway Station.
