This pair of curtain tie backs is decorated with the qilin motif, the Chinese auspicious symbol for fertility and good fortune, embroidered in gold thread. The lower section features beadwork and bead tassels hang from the bottom. Curtain tie backs were a common feature in the bridal chamber.
