This earthenware pot has been adapted for use as a money box. The mouth is sealed and holes are punched into the walls of the pot. The everted mouthrim, tall neck and bulbous body are reminiscent of earthenware kendi (ritual vessel ware) form of this period. Money-boxes in various shapes and sizes were popular during the Majapahit period (1293-1528).
