The stage started off as a small hut with a basic wooden stage. In 1971, the wayang stage was completely rebuilt and is now the stage that stands opposite the Tua Pek Kong Temple today. The present stage is three times the size of the original stage.
The wayang stage was an important part of Pulau Ubin social life in the past. For decades, street opera or wayang performances at the stage were the island’s only form of entertainment.
House of Ahmad Kassim and Ahmad Drink Stall

House No.1 was built in the 1930s as a holiday retreat for the Chief Surveyor of Singapore, Landon Williams.
The building now serves as the Chek Jawa Visitor Centre and is located near the Chek Jawa Wetlands in eastern Pulau Ubin.
Following its 1987 closure, the former Pulau Ubin Maternity and Child Health Clinic was repurposed as a resturant that serves seafood to Pulau Ubin visitors. The site is vacant today.
