Bukit Timah Nature Reserve contains the largest contiguous tract of primary rainforest on the island, and it is one of the remaining few places where one can experience Singapore’s primeval forest environment.

During the battle for Singapore in February 1942, Bukit Timah was strategically important as reservoirs and vital British supply depots were located here, and the main road to the city ran through the area.

During World War II (WWII), Bukit Timah was a key target for the Japanese as the British supply depots, reservoirs and the strategic Bukit Timah Hill were all located in the area. This trail explores WWII-related sites as well as places that carry the memories and legacies of the Japanese Occupation.
