Home to the Freemasons in Singapore, a fraternal society, the Masonic Hall was officially opened in 1879. Before this, the Freemasons held their meetings in various locations, including Armenian Street and North Bridge Road. The Freemasons have always been involved in charitable work in Singapore and the society continues to be active in philanthropy today.
