Federated Malay States Railways Illustrated Map

This poster issued by the Federated Malay States (FMS) Railways features a colourful map of Malaya, with reduced travel fares being offered for rail passengers. Illustrated by J.R.Charton who was commissioned by the FMS to illustrate scenes of Malaya, the poster depicts fishermen by the sea, farmers on fields and plantations, junk boats and attap houses, pineapple plantations and fruit tins, a temple, textiles of the region, a keris, and local fauna.
