The model of this calculator is 38E, Hewlett Packard's (HP) first programmable business calculator. This was one of the first calculators produced in Singapore's HP factory, and was presented to Hon Sui Sen, then Minister of Finance. HP Singapore, a multinational corporation (MNC) that was awarded a pioneer certificate, started its operations in April 1970 in the Redhill Industrial Estate.
