On this voluminous gown, the floral motifs inspired by kimono fabrics from the Edo period are woven with blue-to-yellow dégradé effect in a specially designed jacquard fabric. It reflects the designer, Andrew Gn’s attention to details and savoir faire in textiles. The gown is from his Pre-Fall 2018 collection, which drew inspiration from Japanese design elements as a nod to his Japanese heritage and love for its art and culture. Andrew Gn is one of Singapore’s most prolific fashion designers in history, achieving high levels of critical acclaim and industry success. He is the only Singaporean to be a constant feature of Paris Fashion Week since 1995. His creations are known for their elegant, feminine, maximalist aesthetics and are finely crafted, cross-cultural, and reflective of innovation in tradition in fashion. This work is part of his major gift back to Singapore.
