This set of three photographs were taken by an unknown traveller passing through Singapore and Shanghai, and based on the round format of the prints, most probably taken using a Kodak No 1 camera, one of the earliest of the range of Kodak cameras that popularised photography by amateurs. The Singapore views are of the Hotel de L’Europe at the Esplanade and a bullock cart.
