Foo Tee Jun won the Cultural Medallion in Photography in 1989. He was a prominent club photographer for decades, holding numerous committee positions at the PSS and acting as a salon judge for many competitions. This group of works show a different aspect of Foo's photographic practice - less decorative and more documentary. Here, Foo photographed the ceremony for the Farewell Day for the God of the Stove (or Kitchen God), on the 24th day of the 12th month.
