Lady Sophia Raffles was the wife of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, having married him in 1817. This letter is part of a collection of letters written by her to the Revd Thomas Raffles, who was her husband’s cousin. After her time in Europe, Lady Raffles writes from Cheltenham upon her return to England, with some further discussion on the sale of her home at High Wood following her previous letter.
