This comic book album belonged to Ting Poh Ying, whose family used to run a five-foot-way library at Boon Tat Street. After school, Mdm Ting would set up the library on the five-foot-way across the road from her father's barber shop and charge patrons 5 cents to read each comic book. Her father hand-bound these comic books and also built a cardboard box to house each set of books, or album. He would do this at night after working in the barber shop during the day.
