This cotton cloth was originally a ceremonial tubeskirt made of two woven panels sewn together and fashioned into a tubular sarong. Two lengths of finely embroidered panels were added and It is further embellished with small mirror-like pieces of mica. This example probably was made and worn by the Paminggir or Semangka peoples of Lampung, in South Sumatra.
