Gift of Ms Chew Hui Im
This beaded pouch was used to store spectacles belonging to Han Suyin at home. This was bought by her daughter Chew Hui Im probably in Hong Kong or China. Chew was adopted in Singapore in 1953 by Han Suyin. Han also paid for Chew’s school fees in Stamford Girls’ Primary School. Han also adopted Tang Yongmei in China in 1940. Currently Mdm Chew is a retired teacher.
