The Tang Shipwreck was acquired through the generous donation of the Estate of Khoo Teck Puat.

Of the approximately 900 pieces of green ware found on the ship, only around 200 were from the Yue kilns. These figures reflect the limited output of the Yue kilns, which seem to have had rather strict quality controls. There are about 10 incense burners found among the Yue ceramics in this wreck. These censers all have cylindrical bodies with straight sides and domed covers pierced with floral or foliate motifs. Such incense burners may have been used alongside other Yue tea wares as incense and tea both aided meditation in Buddhist practice.
