The Tang Shipwreck was acquired through the generous donation of the Estate of Khoo Teck Puat.

This ovoid jar, with a polygonal spout, is covered with a light green glaze with an overall crackle. It is one of the types of Guangdong green wares found on the Tang shipwreck and its producers probably modelled these wares after the esteemed Yue celadons from Zhejiang province. The Guangdong jar is more coarsely made than the Yue wares, but interestingly, its glaze has weathered the centuries underwater much better.
