This ‘bakul bunga’ or flower basket features the motifs of phoenixes, butterflies and the symbols of the Eight Immortals are of a high quality of workmanship. It was commissioned from the notable Shanghai silversmith Jing Fu.Bed hangings like this were used in pairs on the wedding bed as auspicious symbols alongside other bed ornaments and hangings.
