This woven Tai Daeng ceremonial cloth consists of purple, red, yellow, white and green supplementary designs of stylised birds and other animals. A short fringe at the bottom is made separately from attached silk threads.Tai Daeng (Red Tai), also refers to the group's original home in the district of Muang Daeng, Thanh Hoa province in Vietnam. They are one of the largest Lao-Tai groups in the northeast Laos, having migrated from Vietnam during the 19th century.
