This is a bronze figure of Aiyanar. The figure represents the god with an elaborate 'prabha' (halo) on which even the sun and the moon are delineated.Aiyanar’s representation as a horse rider captures his role as a guardian who will perennially take his rounds protecting the village boundaries.
