This silver figural bracelet is in an open circle form. It is decorated with raised bosses and what could be three ancestral figures. Ancestral figures typically act as a protective charm and in this case, could be used to ward off evil spirirts. In Timor, metal jewellery is worn for self adornment and exchanged in marriage alliances. However, not all communities in Timor possess the technology of silversmithing. They depend on other groups in Timor or other islands in the Lesser Sunda Straits for their jewellery.
